The first thing you really need to understand is that the definition of racism that you probably have (which is the colloquial definition: “racism is prejudice against someone based on their skin color or ethnicity”) is NOT the definition that’s commonly used in anti-racist circles. The definition used in anti-racist circles is the accepted sociological definition (which is commonly used in academic research, and has been used for more than a decade now): “racism is prejudice plus power”. What this means, in easy language:A. Anyone can hold “racial prejudice” — that is, they can carry positive or negative stereotypes of others based on racial characteristics. For example, a white person thinking all Asians are smart, or all black people are criminals; or a Chinese person thinking Japanese people are untrustworthy; or what-have-you. ANYONE, of any race, can have racial prejudices.
B. People of any race can commit acts of violence, mistreatment, ostracizing, etc., based on their racial prejudices. A black kid can beat up a white kid because he doesn’t like white kids. An Indian person can refuse to associate with Asians. Whatever, you get the idea.C. However, to be racist (rather than simply prejudiced) requires havinginstitutional power. In North America, white people have the institutional power. In large part we head the corporations; we make up the largest proportion of lawmakers and judges; we have the money; we make the decisions. In short, we control the systems that matter. “White” is presented as normal, the default. Because we have institutional power, when we think differently about people based on their race or act on our racial prejudices, we are being racist. Only white people can be racist, because only white people have institutional power.
D. People of color can be prejudiced, but they cannot be racist, because they don’t have the institutional power. (However, some people refer to intra-PoC prejudice as “lateral racism”. You may also hear the term “colorism”, which refers to lighter-skinned PoC being prejudiced toward darker-skinned PoC.) However, that situation can be different in other countries; for example, a Japanese person in Japan can be racist against others, because the Japanese have the institutional power there. But in North America, Japanese peoplecan’t be racist because they don’t hold the institutional power.E. If you’re in an area of your city/state/province that is predominantly populated by PoC and, as a white person, you get harassed because of your skin color, it’s still not racism, even though you’re in a PoC-dominated area. The fact is, even though they’re the majority population in that area, they still lack the institutional power. They don’t have their own special PoC-dominated police force for that area. They don’t have their own special PoC-dominated courts in that area. The state/province and national media are still not dominated by PoC. Even though they have a large population in that particular area, they still lack the institutional power overall.F. So that’s the definition of racism that you’re likely to encounter. If you start talking about “reverse racism” you’re going to either get insulted or laughed at, because it isn’t possible under that definition; PoC don’t have the power in North America, so by definition, they can’t be racist. Crying “reverse racism!” is like waving a Clueless White Person Badge around.

Its very simply..When a black person say “I am proud to be black” the people go YEAH DUDE good job you should be proud my god we love you!!! When a white guy say “I am proud to be white” THE HELL BURN THIS FUCKING RACIST DOWN omg he say he is proud to be white omg burn him now before he make kids i am sure he will born the new hitler…So Yeah pretty much what the anonymous say “You are racist if you are white” simply as that..it like feminism..Omg i deserve equality “Hell you cant touch me i am girl” Hell you should pay for that dinner Hell i am not working you should bring food for me..Feminism and racist is 2 stupid things that humanity create!! Anyway my 2 cents…the double standars are pathetic !! i am out of here

“white power” is not the equivalent of Black Power, Brown Power, etc. White power glorifies the systematic racism and privilege that has been executed by white imperialist throughout history. Black Power, Brown Power, etc is a direct response to white imperialism and institutionalized racism. White power is the dominant power structure trying to crush change and progress. Black Power is resistance against a deadly institution through all means possible. They are not the same thing

white male:being rewarded for my misogyny sure is sweet especially because since i can doubly feel entitled to my worthless opinions by using my superficial claim of being an ally of poc as a vehicle to continue infantilising and ridiculing young women whenever they open their mouths, regardless of whether what they said was racist or not

So you can be proud of being black, hispanic, or asian, but you can’t be proud to be white? Wtf is wrong with society?

white people are behind the worst genocides in history what your sus ass got to be proud of? the invention of graham crackers?

idk pretty sure we invented toilets or something

bitch we invented the soap to clean your filthy asses dont talk shit

Jessusssssssssss

Actually, white people invented the following;

Geography
Telescope
Microscope
Automobile
Television
Electricity
Aircrafts
Computers
The Piano
Electric Engineering
Telephone
Theory of Evolution
The Wormhole
First one’s in Space
First one’s on the Moon
Banks/Banking
The theory of Natural Selection
Theatre
Pencil
The Jet Engine
The discovery of DNA
The discovery of the Atom
The discovery of Cells
The Camera
US Constitution
Democracy
Republic

And yes, a white person did happen to invent the graham cracker.

If you want to cling to every invention that white people are responsible for throughout history as if it’s some sort of accomplishment of your own, then you should also accept responsibility for all the disgusting things that white people have done, correct? You can’t just claim the things that make you look good and disregard the history that makes you look bad. Take it all or leave it all.

Geography- The oldest known world maps date back to Islam in the 9th Century B.C.

Automobile- automobiles were base on chariots created by the Indo-Iranians.

Electricity- Nobody invented electricity, pendejo estupido. Electricity is a natural phenomena.

Computers- Computers were based on the abacus, created by the ancient Sumerians.

The Piano- The piano is based on string instruments created in ancient Mesopotamia.

The Wormhole- Einstein discovered this, and given that Einstein was a dedicate member of the NAACP and called racism America’s “worst disease”, I’m sure that he would not appreciate you using his discoveries to promote white supremacy.

Theatre- The earliest recorded theatrical event dates back to 2000 BCE with the “passion plays” of Ancient Egypt.

The Jet Engine- This is based on rockets invented by the Chinese in the 13th Century

The Discovery of the Atom- Atomism dates back to India during the 6th Century BCE

The Camera- Photographic cameras were a development of the Camera Obscura, a device dating back to the ancient Chinese.

The U.S. Constitution- The earliest known code of law dates back to the ancient Mesopotamians. The American Constitution is based on the Iroquois “Great Code of Peace”. And given that the original U.S. Constitution was used to enslave and murder thousands of people, maybe you shouldn’t be so proud of it.

Democracy- Based on the Sanghas of India during the 6th Century BCE

Republics- See above.

Nice try, white person. Practically everything you guys invented comes from PoC

Have fun with your Graham Crackers tho

Teacher in MI Cuts Little Girls Natural Hair Off, Throws Away In Front Of Her

This teacher needs to be terminated immediately….at LEAST.

This bitch needs physical violence. LOTS OF IT.

but notice how they humanize the teacher by constantly calling her frustrated. Notice how they put her frustration on the same level as the violence enacted upon this little girl. Lets talk about how deeply an act of violence it is to cut off and throw away a little black girl’s hair to the laughter of the classroom. Or about how the teacher shows the little girl that her mother has no power and cant do anything to protect her by asking “What are you going to tell your mother?” And about how cutting her hair was just as much a message to her mother for sending her child to school with a hairstyle that she deems disruptive and frustrating. And how as a teacher, if you dont have constructive ways of discipline that dont involve terrorizing children then you are unfit for the job. but o she is frustrated and is receiving a small fine as opposed to being fired. Lets talk about what would happen if you terrorized and cut some white child’s hair in a school district with some means, whose parents have a higher property tax….

commentary.
